Both this afternoon and this evening have some particularly good shows, some CMJ, some non-CMJ.  Here’s the run down.

Originally from New York, Texas-based Ann Klein plays an amalgam of rock, blues and alt country.  She’ll appear at The Rockwood Music Hall Stage 3 at 12:40pm.  A bit later, at 3pm, Brooklyn-based rockers Chris Cubeta and the Liars Club will hit the original stage at  The Rockwood Music Hall.  Back at Rockwood Stage 3, Austin’s legendary rocker Jon Dee Graham will play at 3:20pm.

Moving uptown to the Lincoln Center area, you’ll find Jeff Litman playing rock and power pop, Bryan Dunn playing story-based folk rock, and Martin Rivas playing rock as well.  This is the line up for the Friday afternoon concert series at the American Folk Art Museum.  The show starts there at 5:30pm.

Turning to tonight, Elizabeth and The Catapult bring their classical-tinged indie pop to Rockwood Stage 3 at 8pm.  Uptown in Harlem, rockers Rony’s Insomnia will play The Shrine at 8:30pm.  Legendary poet, bluesman and political activist John Sinclair will again team up with New York’s Adventures in Bluesland at Bed-Sty’s Beast Of Bourbon at 9pm.  At that same time, Brooklyn’s Jessie Kilguss will lead her band through a set at Red Hook Bait and Tackle. Finally, Jay Stolar will bring his rock and soul to Rockwood Stage 3 at 10pm.
